Leicester City are reportedly expecting a move from Arsenal to sign Youri Tielemans, with the Belgian midfielder being linked with the Emirates Stadium club for the majority of the summer.

According to the Guardian, the Foxes are bracing themselves for the Gunners to launch a bid to sign Tielemans, with the former AS Monaco star reportedly interested in moving to Arsenal as Leicester last season missed out on finishing in a European spot in the Premier League.

With Leicester still the only side in the top-flight to make a signing this summer, things are looking bleak ahead of the new season, especially with club legend Kasper Schmeichel on the verge of joining OGC Nice whilst Newcastle United ramp up their interest in James Maddison, as per the Guardian.

And for Tielemans, the midfielder is seemingly just waiting for Arsenal to make an offer to sign the 25-year-old, with Mikel Arteta seemingly waiting to offload some players first before making a move to sign the Foxes star, who Leicester will reportedly sell this summer for just £25m.

Whilst Arsenal have already signed a midfielder this summer in Portuguese youngster Fabio Vieira, Tielemans would be a welcome addition in north London as a long-term replacement for Granit Xhaka, who many expect will leave the Gunners next summer amid rising interest from European clubs.

Indeed, with Bernd Leno and Lucas Torreira reportedly set to leave Arsenal this week, these two deals could be enough to convince the Gunners they have enough funds to sign Tielemans, who could be the club’s final yet most shrewd piece of business of the summer.

Tielemans has been linked with Arsenal for what feels like an eternity, and with the window approaching its final month, time is slowly running out for the Gunners to make an official offer for the Leicester superstar.

There’s no denying that Arsenal are making the right move waiting to sell players first before making a move for Tielemans, yet with Leicester growing agitated over the Belgian and the Gunners making no real progress on signing the midfielder, conditions are ripe for a rival side to swoop in and capture the 25-year-old ahead of the Gunners.
