AS Roma will reportedly look to offload players in the coming weeks in order to sign Andrea Belotti, who has been offered to Everton and Newcastle United.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via GIFN, Jose Mourinho is keen to bring the Italian international to Rome this summer, with Belotti now a free agent after being released by Torino, where the striker was club captain and remains one of the Turin-based side’s all-time goalscorers with 158 strikes in total.
Despite this incredible record, Belotti is yet to be picked up by a club since leaving Torino this summer, yet this update from Roma could spur the Italian side to recruit the 28-year-old forward, much to the dismay of Everton and Newcastle, who could have been ideal clubs for the striker.
Both Premier League sides are eager to add firepower to their frontline, but with Roma and Mourinho set to hatch a masterplan to sign Belotti, Everton and Newcastle could be left out in the cold over the attacker, with star playmaker Nicolo Zaniolo set to leave this summer.
Indeed, the sale of the Italian youngster alone will be enough for Roma to fund a move to sign Belotti, with Tottenham reportedly interested in Zaniolo and a move could be completed in the coming weeks, allowing the UEFA Europa Conference League champions to snap up the former Torino striker.
With Paulo Dybala signed and Georginio Wijnaludm reportedly on his way, Roma could have an incredible squad for the new season, and for Everton and Newcastle, they could both miss out on a striker in Belotti who could be perfectly suited for the Premier League.
Roma signing Belotti could launch a title bid for Mourinho

Belotti is one of Europe’s most consistent goalscorers, and with Roma moving to sign the forward, the Italian could join a forward line alongside Dybala and Tammy Abraham in an attacking trio that could challenge for the Serie A title if everything clicks.
Whilst Everton and Newcastle are sleepwalking for Belotti, Roma are making moves to bring the Italian to the national capital, and if Mourinho lands his man, the Portuguese manager could launch an unexpected bid for the Scudetto, something that has not been seen in the Eternal City for well over a decade.
