Tottenham Hotspur are now in talks with Sevilla over a deal to offload Sergio Reguilon with the full-back preferring a move to the La Liga side despite receiving interest from Juventus.

That’s according to 90min, who report Sevilla would be Reguilon’s preferred destination if the Spaniard leaves Spurs. He played 38 times for the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan side on loan from Real Madrid in the 2019/20 season, after which Tottenham paid up to £32m.

Reguilon has been a regular part of the Tottenham teamsheet ever since moving to north London with 67 appearances. But the 25-year-old struggled to retain first-choice status at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium following Antonio Conte’s arrival before suffering injuries.

Sevilla in Reguilon talks as Conte leaves defender out of Tottenham tour squad

Conte is now non-comital regarding Reguilon’s future, and left the six-cap defender out of his squad for Tottenham’s pre-season tour of South Korea. His situation intrigues Sevilla as Julen Lopetegui looks to strengthen his side, with talks even underway between the clubs.

Reguilon has other offers on his table but would prefer to return to Sevilla if Tottenham let him go. The move is likely to be a loan deal at first in the wake of Aston Villa hiring Ludwig Augustinsson from Los Nervionenses for the 2022/23 season in a move agreed on Monday.

Allegri to rival Lopetegui as Juventus eye Reguilon to replace Sandro in Turin

One of the alternative offers for Reguilon to consider could be from Juventus as the Serie A side are also interested in a deal with Tottenham. CalcioMercatoWeb claim the Bianconeri plan to step up their pursuit following the recent arrivals of Paul Pogba and Angel Di Maria.

Massimiliano Allegri wants to rival Lopetegui as he considers Reguilon a worthy alternative for Alex Sandro to compete with. Reguilon could even be the starter at the Allianz Stadium next season, as Calciomercato report Sandro is up for sale as he has fallen out of favour.
