Brentford are reportedly in talks to sign OGC Nice attacker Kasper Dolberg, with the Danish international previously approached by Newcastle United over a potential move in the January transfer window.

According to GFFN, the Bees have made an approach to sign the 24-year-old striker, with Thomas Frank keen to add another Dane to Brentford’s side, with the west London club squad becoming a hotspot for players from the Scandinavian nation.

And Dolberg is one of Denmark’s most recognisable names, with the forward previously a superstar with Ajax before joining Nice where the striker has enjoyed decent success in Ligue 1, and now, Brentford want to sign the attacker as the French Riviera side look to shift on the attacker.

As per the report, Nice are looking to sign a more experienced player to partner star talent Amine Gouiri this summer, and Dolberg will be the fall guy from this new plan, with Brentford now in talks to sign the 24-year-old just a few months after Newcastle almost landed the Dane.

The Toon were reportedly in talks to sign Dolberg for £17m, with the striker once being called ‘world class’ by former Nice manager and current Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira, who remains a big fan of the Scandinavian talent, who could now be heading to the Premier League.

Brentford have been busy this summer with the recent signing of Aaron Hickey from Bologna, and now, the Bees could add Dolberg to their ranks in a move that could be a brilliant move for Frank, with the arrival of the Dane bringing some much-needed depth in the attack.

Indeed, Dolberg has impressed during his time with Nice, and in the Premier League with a team that has managed to get a tune out of many Danish players like Brentford, signing for the west London side could be a great move for all parties involved.
