Nathan Ake has been linked with a move Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur, but it seems that the Manchester City defender could be on his way to Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea instead.

Well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter this afternoon that Chelsea have full agreement with Manchester City centre-back Ake on personal terms.

Romano has added that Premier League champions City are aware of the situation, but they have not yet received an official bid from Chelsea.

90min reported on June 28 that Tottenham and West Ham United are considering making moves for the Netherlands international centre-back this summer.

No big miss for Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur are actually on the verge of another centre-back.

Barcelona central defender Clement Lenglet has completed a medical at Tottenham, according to Romano.

This suggests that Spurs will not miss much if Ake moves to Chelsea.

We think that once Lenglet joins, Tottenham will not sign another senior centre-back in the summer transfer window.

The French defender is joining Spurs on loan from Barcelona, while City want at least £40 million for Ake.

Maybe that is why Tottenham opted for Lenglet.
