Hector Bellerin would be welcomed with open arms back at Real Betis as the Arsenal misfit looks to secure a route out of the Premier League giants, striker Borja Iglesias tells Mundo Deportivo.

If the £28 million centre-forward had his way, Bellerin would have been joining him at Betis’ new kit launch this week.

Instead, Arsenal’s long-serving, Catalan-turned-cockney finds himself in limbo with the new English top-flight season just one month away. According to Estadio Deportivo, Bellerin has made it clear to the Gunners that he wants to leave.

Permamently, this time.

And the former Barcelona youngster would tear your hand clean off at the bone if you offered him a second spell at Betis on a silver platter. Bellerin is, after all, a boyhood Betico. And he played some of his best football in recent years on loan at the Estadio Benito Villamarin last term, helping Manuel Pellegrini’s side qualify for Europe while securing their first piece of silverware since the evergreen 40-year-old Joaquin was but a baby-faced up-and-comer.

Will Hector Bellerin leave Arsenal permanently this summer?

So far, Real Betis have not managed to reach an agreement with Arsenal. Iglesias, however, is hoping that changes.

“I talk to him a lot. For me, he is a very important person. A friend that you take with you forever,” says the second most expensive signing in Betis’ history.

“I would love it (if Bellerin returned). If I had to decide, he would be here right now. But since I don’t have to negotiate (the deals) – luckily because it would be fatal – we’ll see what happens.

“He has always shown his love for the club and the desire to be here. Whatever happens, he is welcome.”

Arsenal would reportedly accept a cut-price fee of £10 million for Bellerin; His moustache and flowing locks making the defender look more and more like a cross between a ‘188 guy’ and a session guitarist from a 1970s glam rock band.

The four-time Spain international – who captained the Gunners during their recent 5-1 friendly victory over Ipswich Town – has just one year left on his contract.

But Bellerin’s wages could make a return to Andalusia, in the words of Betis president Antonio Cordon, ‘very difficult.

“I want to be very frank,” he says. “Right now, we cannot deal with this type of situation.

“Hector Bellerin? He’s in love with Betis,” Cordon adds, via Fabrizio Romano. “He’s now back at Arsenal and we will see what happens. He knows our situation.”
