Don Hutchison has claimed that Liverpool ‘wouldn’t want’ Neymar at their club, amid rumours he could leave PSG this summer, as he told ESPN.
The former Liverpool midfielder added that when Neymar was in his pomp ‘only Lionel Messi was technically better’ than the Brazil international.
It has been an up and down time for Neymar during his time in France’s capital, with cash-rich PSG paying Barcelona a staggering £200 million for his services back in 2017 (BBC Sport).

Now, fast forward to today, it seems as though the French champions are happy for him to leave this summer, with Chelsea being tipped to sign him, as reported by ESPN.
Either way, Hutchison shared what Neymar could do next with his career, as he pointed out the teams outside of the top four in England can’t afford him, whilst a team like Liverpool don’t want him.
“No, I don’t think (Neymar gets unwanted flak),” said Hutchison. “I think he must put his head on the pillow every night and think ‘why on earth did I make that move when I was flying at Barcelona, with Messi and Suarez, to go to PSG?’
“No disrespect to PSG. I read all the headlines back in the day. He wanted to be out of Messi’s shadow and win a Ballon d’Or. But it never felt like the right move.
“He was flying, at his peak and he was nearly untouchable. Then he made the move. He has had some horrendous ankle operations and long-term injuries he has struggled to come back from. He likes a bit of lifestyle away.
“I see any move that happens for Neymar, as probably a few years down the line. Then it will be a test to see where he wants to play and it might be Brazil. Go back to Brazil. Go and play for the love of the game.
“He is a talent. In his pomp, there was only Messi technically better than him. He was that good. You look at the top four teams outside of England, no-one can afford him. Then there are teams like Liverpool, who don’t really want him because he wouldn’t fit into their system.”

WHAT NEXT FOR NEYMAR’S CAREER?
At 30, Neymar is at a stage of his career where is no longer a talent and many will be expecting him to produce the best performances of his career.
That seemingly won’t come at PSG, but could he prove his doubters wrong by joining a Premier League side and showcasing his worth?
Well, one thing is for sure, this upcoming 2022 World Cup in Qatar is the last time the Brazil star will be at the peak of his powers.
The South American powerhouses are one of the favourites to win football’s biggest trophy, as it would be something if Neymar is to guide them over the line.
Either way, Neymar is better off leaving PSG because he’s clearly not wanted, as a move to England would certainly make people sit up and take notice.
