Thomas Frank has stated that he would ‘love to speak’ about Aaron Hickey if the reported Arsenal transfer target signs for Brentford, as he told Sky Sports News.

The Brentford boss was speaking live from Silverstone ahead of the British Grand Prix, as he added that ‘there are a lot of rumours out there’ regarding Hickey.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Bees are going to secure a £14 million transfer plus add-ons for the Scottish left-back, from Bologna.

Arsenal were a club seemingly looking at the 20-year-old, but it seems as though he is heading to the Brentford community stadium instead.

Nonetheless, when Frank was asked about Hickey whilst enjoying his time at Silverstone, this is what he had to say.

“There are a lot of rumours out there,” said Frank. “I would love to speak about players. If he signs, then I would love to speak about him.”

WILL ARSENAL SIGN LISANDRO MARTINEZ?

It does seem as though Arsenal are fishing for another left-sided player to join Mikel Arteta’s squad ahead of their return to Europe next season.

Whilst Nuno Tavares only joined last summer, he did struggle at the club, especially towards the back end of the campaign and he is already being tipped to leave.

But could someone like Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez move to north London? Well, it seems as though the Gunners are fighting Manchester United for his signature.

Whilst Martinez is a centre-back, he is someone who can deploy that left-back role, as well as play in the middle of the park, with Kevin Campbell suggesting that his former side are in ‘pole position’ to sign the Argentina international.
