Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United have made a bid for Lisandro Martinez, a player Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants to sign as well, according to The Manchester Evening News.

Manchester United bid for Arsenal target Lisandro Martinez

The Manchester Evening News have reported that Manchester United have made a bid of €43million (£37m) for Ajax centre-back Martinez.

The report has claimed that Arsenal’s interest in the left-footed central defender ‘is likely to have spurred’ the Red Devils into making a bid now.

The Daily Mail have also reported of a bid from United for Martinez, adding that Arsenal have had an offer of £34.5 million for the 24-year-old Argentina international centre-back already turned down by Ajax.

Pay the money

In our opinion, if Arsenal and Manchester United are keen on signing Lisandro Martinez from Ajax in the summer transfer window, then they should simply pay what the Dutch giants want.

It is as simple as that.

Now, Ajax are asking for £43 million, while Arsenal are willing to pay £34.5 million and United are offering £37 million.

There is really not that much difference between what Arsenal and United are willing to pay and what Ajax are asking for.

It is important that Arteta and Ten Hag have their squads ready for next season as soon as possible, so delaying a transfer for a million pounds is only going to affect them later.
