According to Fabrizio Romano, Villarreal are eyeing Newcastle target Umar Sadiq as a replacement for Arnaut Danjuma, who is wanted by West Ham.
What’s the story?
Well, David Moyes is keen to bring the Dutchman back to the Premier League, but there is still plenty to do until the exciting winger arrives in east London.
West Ham are still trying to agree a fee with Villarreal, with the Hammers trying to talk the Spaniards down from their €45m (£39m) asking price.
Villarreal also need to sign a replacement, although they have made progress in that respect by identifying Sadiq.
Should Unai Emery be successful in his pursuit of the Nigerian, it would come as a blow to Newcastle, who have already made contact with Almeria in an attempt to sign the £50m man.

However, Newcastle’s loss would be West Ham’s gain, as Sadiq moving to Villarreal is set to free up Danjuma to join the Irons.
Interest in Danjuma comes after he impressively scored 16 goals in 34 appearances last season, following a move from Bournemouth.
Newcastle should rival West Ham for Danjuma
In our view, Eddie Howe should forget about Sadiq and make a move for Danjuma himself.
The pacey Netherlands international – who claims Liverpool are also interested in him – is emerging as one of the best forwards in Europe, after he helped Villarreal reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Danjuma scored goals against Juventus and Bayern Munich last season as the Yellow Submarine shone in Europe’s greatest club competition, and we believe he would fit in well at Newcastle.

Howe would have a wing duo fit to tear apart any full-back in the Premier League if he paired Danjuma with Allan Saint-Maximin, while Callum Wilson would also surely thrive off their service in the centre.
Whatever happens, be sure to keep an eye on Villarreal, as things should start to progress if they manage to sign Sadiq from Almeria.
