Vincent Kompany’s Burnley are on the verge of summer signings three and four with Standard Liege duo Jackson Muleka and Samuel Bastien on their way to Turf Moor, according to Belgian publication DH.
So far, Burnley’s transfer activity feels like a mesh of two different eras. Scott Twine and Luke McNally – exciting, young, homegrown talent snapped up from the lower leagues, Sean Dyche-style – and a pair of Jupiler League stars who caught Kompany’s eye during his time in the Anderlecht hotseat.
Reports on Wednesday claimed that a Clarets side in transition had failed with an opening bid of £2.5 million for 22-year-old Muleka. But, after raising their offer to £3.5 million plus bonuses, Burnley have now reached an agreement with Standard Liege.
Muleka, who scored 15 goals and provided seven assists on loan at Kasimpasa last term, will sign a four-year deal at Turf Moor. The first part of his medical is planned to take place in Belgium at some point today and, if everything goes to plan, the DR Congo international should be unveiled in claret-and-blue early next week.
Burnley to land Jackson Muleka and Samuel Bastien

Muleka, a fast, highly technical centre-forward who can score and create in the final third, offers a completely different sort of presence in the final third. An antithesis to the physicality of Chris Wood, Ashley Barnes and the outgoing Wout Weghorst.
According to DH, fellow Congo international Bastien is all-but certain to join Muleka in Lancashire. Though a deal for the ex-Chievo Verona is understood to not be quite as advanced.
Bastien, like Muleka, reportedly packed up his belongings on Thursday. And, with just one year left on his contract, the midfielder could be on the move for just £700,000.
Muleka and Bastien will take Burnley’s summer spending up to around £10 million. What’s more, the arrival of the former should coincide with Weghorst’s departure after six disappointing months in England.
According to Besiktas president Ahmet Nur Cebi, the Dutch international is on his way to Turkey.
