Vincent Kompany is a big fan of Jackson Muleka and Championship outfit Burnley have now submitted a £2.5 million bid for the Standard Liege forward, as reported by Belgian publication DH

Sean Dyche’s successor might have ruled out the prospect of raiding former employers Anderlecht during his first transfer window in charge of the Clarets, but he did admit that summer raids on other members of the Jupiler League are very much on the cards.

So, enter Jackson Muleka.

A 22-year-old DR Congo international centre-forward, Kompany is a big fan of a player who caught his eye at Standard Liege. Muleka only enhanced his reputation during an excellent season on loan at Kasimpasa too, scoring 15 goals and providing seven assists.

And, according to DH, Burnley have already submitted a bid of £2.5 million. The Lancashire outfit could face competition from Galatasaray, Besiktas, Red Star Belgrade and Turkish Super Lig champions Trabzonspor, however, while new Standard coach Ronny Deila will not let Muleka go without a fight.

Interestingly, Muleka is not the only member of Deila’s squad on Kompany’s shopping list. Burnley are also willing to stump up a further £700,000 to sign fellow Standard ace and Congo international Samuel Bastien.

A 25-year-old central midfielder, Bastien is reportedly open to the idea of joining the former Manchester City captain at Turf Moor. One presumes he would arrive instead of Josh Cullen, the Anderlecht enforcer who Kompany all-but ruled out a move for a couple of days ago.

Defender Moussa Sissako is another of interest. Though it is uncertain whether the former Paris Saint-Germain youngster is still an active target. Burnley signed fellow defender Luke McNally from Oxford United for £2 million on Tuesday.

Burnley also looked at Dan Ballard before his proposed switch to Arsenal fell through. Scott Twine has arrived, however. League One’s Player of the Year will hope provide plenty of attacking threat following Wout Weghorst’s departure to Besiktas.
