Aberdeen manager Jim Goodwin admits he’d ‘love’ to reunite with Wolves man Connor Ronan as the Ireland international faces an uncertain future in the Premier League, speaking to Football Scotland.
The Rochdale-born playmaker certainly left a lasting impression on Goodwin. No wonder.
Not only did Ronan provide eight goals and five assists under the now-Dons boss at St Mirren last term, he also swept the board at the club’s end of season awards. And with parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers expected to make a decision over the 24-year-old’s future in the coming weeks, Goodwin will be waiting with bated breath as he plots a potential reunion at Aberdeen.
“I’m not going to deny the fact I have a lot of admiration for Connor Ronan as a player and as a person,” says Goodwin, who replaced Stephen Glass at Pittodrie in February.
“He is a terrifically talented player and won all of the Player of the Year awards at St Mirren last season.
“Connor is a terrific player and has no end of admirers looking at him just now I would imagine. I’m not going to deny the fact that I would love to work with him again.”
Will Wolves sell Connor Ronan?

According to the Daily Record, Ronan has not given up hope for forcing his way into the first-team picture at Molineux. That is despite the fact that he has not played a single game in Old Gold since the 2017/18 season; Nuno Espirito Santo’s debut campaign in the Black County.
There is a feeling, however, that Ronan has missed the boat at Wolves. He will, after all, turn 25 over the next 12 months. And if Bruno Lage is going hand a second chance to a gifted attacking midfielder who spent the last 12 months or so away from Wolverhampton, it’s likely to be Morgan Gibbs-White.
Then again, Nottingham Forest are reportedly closing in on the former Sheffield United talisman, according to The Sun. Could this potentially open up the tiniest of cracks in the proverbial window of opportunity for Ronan?
