St Mirren loanee Connor Ronan has not given up hope of forcing his way into the Premier League picture at parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers, as reported by the Daily Record.
A lot has changed at Molineux since the last time Ronan pulled on Old Gold during a 4-0 victory over Burton Albion all the way back in September 2017.
Leo Bonatini and Diogo Jota scored for Wolves that day at the Pirelli Stadium, with Roderick Miranda, Ivan Cavaleiro and Jack Price also featuring for a side who, at the time, would not have even dared to dream that they’d be embarking upon a European quarter-final clash with Sevilla just three years later.
Ronan, since then, has embarked upon a series of loans. He’s plied his trade in Scotland, Switzerland and Slovakia in recent seasons. But, such has been his form north of the border at St Mirren, it cannot be ruled out that the former Republic of Ireland U21 international will be returning to Molineux alongside the likes of Morgan Gibbs-White and Ryan Giles, a first-team place within his sights.
Does Connor Ronan have a future at Wolves?
According to the Daily Record, Ronan still hopes to break into the first-team picture at Wolves. He has eight goals and five assists for The Buddies.
The Black Country outfit have a decision to make though. Aberdeen, Hearts and Bundesliga hopefuls St Pauli are all hoping to sign Ronan on yet another short-term deal.
Aberdeen boss Jim Goodwin brought Ronan to St Mirren last summer and recently described him as a ‘special’ player.

“To be fair to the kid it’s an excellent finish,” Rangers manager Steven Gerrard said of Ronan after he scored a 30-yard screamer against the Scottish Premiership champions back in October.
“I thought he played well throughout the game.”

Wolves have scored just 33 goals in 33 Premier League games this season. Ronan’s hopes of a return to Molineux may depend on whether or not Bruno Lage brings in a new playmaker during the summer transfer window.
Wolves are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Lage’s former Benfica kid Pedrinho from Shakhtar Donetsk.
