Tottenham have added Gretar Steinsson to their recruitment setup – and he will be a fan of moves for Djed Spence and Yves Bissouma.
Tottenham have lost a couple of recruitment staff of late and Fabio Paratici is rebuilding Tottenham’s scouting department.
Steve Hitchen left the club earlier this year as his role became diminished following the arrival of Paratici last summer.
Brian Carey has also decided to leave his position as head of recruitment at Tottenham, leaving Paratici to bring in new staff.
Tottenham have added Gretar Steinsson
One of the new faces at Tottenham is Gretar Steinsson.
The Athletic reported two weeks ago that Tottenham have appointed Steinsson as their new performance director.
Steinsson held a scouting role at Everton, officially titled as ‘head of recruitment and development’.
Steinsson landed that job after a spell with Fleetwood Town, reuniting with Marcel Brands having been signed by the Dutchman at AZ Alkmaar.
When Brands left Everton in December, Steinsson followed him out of the club.
With a Premier League return now secured at Tottenham, Steinsson will be looking to aid Paratici’s transfer process.
The Athletic now have an interesting note about two players who Steinsson was keen on signing for Everton.

It’s claimed that Steinsson was interested in Yves Bissouma during his time at Everton.
Bissouma has now left Brighton to join Tottenham, meaning Steinsson will absolutely love that Paratici has already signed him.
The Malian midfielder is immensely talented and Steinsson will no longer have to look at him in envy.
It’s even added that Steinsson had been interested in bringing Djed Spence to Everton too.
Spence excelled on loan at Nottingham Forest last season and Middlesbrough are now ready to sell the right wing back this summer.
Spence is expected to join Tottenham and Steinsson will surely be right there supporting Paratici’s talks for the Englishman.
With a greater budget and pulling power, Steinsson may well find that his former Everton targets are much more attainable at Tottenham.
