Tottenham Hotspur have appointed Gretar Steinsson as their performance director following his exit from Everton, according to The Athletic.
The Athletic are reporting this afternoon (2:53pm) that Tottenham have hired Steinsson in the new role as performance director.

The 40-year-old parted company with Everton in December 2021.
The former right-back was at the Merseyside club for three years as their head of recruitment and development.

Gretar Steinsson is a very well-connected and well-respected backroom figure in the footballing community, and Tottenham Hotspur have made a really good appointment in bringing the former Everton official to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

According to The Athletic, Steinsson will work closely with Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici.
The 40-year-old will have ‘a wide remit across senior and youth levels’ at Spurs.
Steinsson worked for almost four years as the technical director at Fleetwood Town before moving to Everton in 2018 as the Toffees’ chief European scout.
The 40-year-old is a former Iceland international right-back who played for Bolton Wanderers in England.
Steinsson also turned out for Young Boys, AZ and Kayserispor in his playing carer.
