Premier League newcomers Fulham have offered AC Milan’s Serie A winning captain a £65,000-a-week contract at Craven Cottage, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.
Well, you can’t accuse the Championship champions of a lack of ambition.
Joao Palhinha is on his way to West London, after Fulham fought off competition from Wolves for the £18 million-rated Portugal international. Manor Solomon could join him, with Fulham agreeing a £7 million deal for the one-time Manchester City target with Shakhtar Donetsk.
And, in Romagnoli, Fulham have also set their sights on an experienced central defender, one who skippered Milan to their first Scudetto triumph since the days of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Clarence Seedorf and Andrea Pirlo.
Will Fulham land AC Milan captain Alessio Romangoli?
Romagnoli, who has 12 caps for the Italian national team and joined the Rossoneri for £20 million back in 2015, is out of contract this summer. And, according to TMW, Fulham have put forward a deal worth around £3.4 million-a-year. Or, if you like, £65,000-a-week.
This comes after Newcastle United submitted an almost identical offer (La Lazio Siamo Noi). It remains to be seen if the Magpies are still in contention for Romagnoli’s signature, with Lille’s Sven Botman seemingly on the verge of signing on the dotted line after months of speculation.

Romagnoli is reportedly ‘evaluating’ Fulham’s offer. Lazio are interested too, though they have not yet made an offer that satisfies the former Roma man’s demands.
Gianluca di Marzio, meanwhile, claims that Romagnoli has doubts about moving to West London. And you can see why. Despite the high-profile arrivals of Palhinha and Solomon, it is far from certain that Fulham will adapt to life back in the big time a la Leeds United in 2020/21, or Brentford last term.
“I think it’s deserved,” Romagnoli said in May after Milan snatched the Serie A title from bitter rivals Inter. “I’ve been suffering for many years and now we’ll enjoy it. I take this opportunity to thank everyone, it’s an unforgettable moment.
“I don’t know what I will do in the future. But, in the meantime, I am proud to be part of this team. We were the strongest and we proved it.”
