Premier League newcomers Fulham are on the verge of finally completing the signing of Shakhtar Donetsk winger Manor Solomon, as reported by Sport 5.

Not so long ago, Solomon was emerging as a transfer target for Manchester City after scoring twice against none other than Real Madrid in the Champions League group-stages. If he can rediscover that sort of form in Fulham colours, you could consider Fabio Carvalho well and truly replaced.

After weeks of ‘will-he, won’t-he’ speculation, the Cottagers have finally reached a breakthrough in talks with the silky Israel international. According to One, an announcement could be made in the coming days.

Fulham will pay £7 million – Solomon’s price-tag falling substantially since the outbreak of the Russian invasion of Ukraine – while handing Shakhtar a 15 per cent sell-on clause. Those terms were actually agreed some time ago, with Solomon admitting as far back as early-May that he expected to ply his trade in the Premier League next term.

The former Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur target will earn around £25,000-a-week at Craven Cottage, while signing a long-term deal.

According to Sport5, Solomon’s family are ‘very excited’ about his impending move to West London. The forward is flattered by the warm reception he’s received from Fulham supporters on social media. A move to England is understood to be a ‘dream come true’.

“In January, Shakhtar had an offer from Fulham for 18 million euros (£15 million),” says Avi Luzon, the chairman of Solomon’s former employers Maccabi Petah Tikva.

“If (Shakhtar) had sold him for that amount, we would’ve had over a million and a half euros (via our sell-on clause). Fulham benefited, took advantage of the situation in Ukraine.”

Fulham are also in talks with Real Betis duo William Carvalho and Alex Moreno. Braga midfielder Al-Musrati and Celta Vigo’s Javi Galan are also on their radar.
