Gianluca Di Marzio claims on his website that Fabio Paratici has met with Roma sporting director Tiago Pinto in Milan, and a possible move to take Nicolo Zaniolo to Tottenham this summer was discussed.
Zaniolo, 22, has been sensational for Roma. Last season, he had a hand in 17 goals from a number of different positions as Jose Mourinho guided Roma to Europa League qualification – and the Conference League trophy.

Little surprise, the tenacious Italian is attracting attention from England. Recent reports say that both Tottenham and Liverpool are keen, while Italian outlet Roma Live say a fee of £42million would necessary for Zaniolo.
Now, Di Marzio says Paratici is in Milan – and met with Roma’s Pinto. A potential move for Joe Rodon to Roma on loan was on the table, while Paratici has been asking for ‘information’ regarding Zaniolo.
Paratici has met with Pinto: Zaniolo to Tottenham discussed
He is a wonderful player. Lofty in frame, like Dejan Kulusevski, Zaniolo can play in numerous positions. On either flank, as a 10, or even up top – Zaniolo has been playing alongside Tammy Abraham in a 3-5-2.
Goals and assists, Zaniolo is still incredibly young but experienced. He fits in Paratici’s blueprint – one that is experienced players between 20 and 25; Rodrigo Bentancur, Kulusevski, Emerson Royal, Cristian Romero.
Tottenham do need back-up to Harry Kane. Why Zaniolo is ideal, is that he can also play out wide meaning he will not simply warm the bench as cover. £42million is arguably a fair price.
