Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport claim – as per TMW – that Newcastle have seen a move to sign Adrien Rabiot from Juventus rejected. The Frenchman is keen on leaving Juventus this summer, but has told Newcastle no.
Rabiot, 27, has been a regular for Juventus during the three years he has spent in Turin. Last season, he played 45 times in all competitions under Max Allegri. But with his contract ending in 2023, he wants to leave this summer.

A recent report from L’Equipe said that Newcastle, Manchester United and Chelsea were all considering the midfielder. Another Italian story suggested Arsenal might try to swap him for Hector Bellerin.
Now, Newcastle have made their move to sign the £13million-rated star according to Gazzetta. But the report indicates that Rabiot has chosen not to join the Toon – and would prefer a club currently in the Champions League.
Newcastle move to sign Rabiot rejected: United, Chelsea boost
Rabiot would have been an ideal signing for Newcastle this summer. They have Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes bombing on from the middle of the park in Eddie Howe’s 4-3-3 system.
But the lynchpin of that midfield is Jonjo Shelvey and while the England star is a solid option, there are certainly better out there. Rabiot would have been a stunning acquisition, especially for a bargain £13million.
However, Rabiot has turned them down and quite understandably, wants to play for a club in Champions League football. Manchester United will still fancy their chances, but surely, Chelsea are now on pole.
