Harry Redknapp has claimed that the rumoured £25 million fee Tottenham are about to pay for Yves Bissouma is ‘cheap’, as he told talkSPORT on Tuesday morning.
As the news broke that Tottenham and Brighton had agreed a £25 million deal for the midfielder, Redknapp stated that he ‘likes him’ as a player and Antonio Conte’s side will be ‘strong’ next season.
If and when the Mali international completes his transfer to Tottenham, then it will be their third addition of the 2022 summer transfer window – Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic both arrived as free-transfers.
Added with that, for the second summer running, Brighton would have sold one of their star players to a team in north London – Ben White moved to Arsenal in 2021.
Nonetheless, this is how Redknapp reacted to the rumour that Bissouma is headed to Tottenham, as he initially felt Spurs were paying ‘£70 million’ for his talents.
“Ooooh, good player,” said Redknapp.
When Redknapp was asked how much he thinks Tottenham are paying for Bissouma, he responded: “£70 million? Oh, cheap. He’s a good player. Strong. I like him.
“I tell you what, Spurs next year are going to be strong. They are going to bring a few players in.”

CONTE BEING BACKED
The one issue Spurs fans have had to previously deal with is a lack of proper backing for the men in their dugout.
Mauricio Pochettino deserved a lot more respect in the transfer market for how he helped build Spurs into a regular Champions League club.
Whilst Jose Mourinho wanted Daniel Levy to push the boat out, instead, he opted to sack him one week before the League Cup final.
The now-infamous reign of Nuno Espirito Santo may have taken place in-between, but Spurs are now on the right track with Conte being backed heading into next season.
