Kevin Campbell thinks there is a chance Arsenal will sign Bayern Munich star, Serge Gnabry, next summer ‘as a free’, as he told the Highbury Squad.
The former striker made it clear that ‘it’s not happening’ this summer, amid rumours of a potential return for the German international.
Arsenal have got many things wrong in the transfer market over the years.
From putting that £1 in front of bid to sign Luis Suarez from Liverpool to signing players from Chelsea, who would turn out to be disastrous purchases.
But the club’s call to sell Gnabry to Werder Bremen in 2015 for £8 million when Arsene Wenger was in charge (Sky Sports) was right up there as a decision to forget.
To see him prosper as one of Europe’s best, including winning the Champions League, must have hurt those at the Emirates.
Well, amid talk of Arsenal wanting to bring him back, Campbell shared these thoughts on the player.
“It’s not happening,” said Campbell. “If he’s going to come to Arsenal, then it’s going to be next year as a free.”

ARSENAL NEED CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FOOTBALL TO SIGN THE ELITE PLAYERS
Tottenham pipping Arsenal to Champions League football on the final day of the recently-concluded season would have hurt.
Not only did they lose that all-important spot to their bitter rivals, but they also lost an edge in the summer transfer market.
From a financial perspective, they can’t splash the cash like they would have wanted because of their league position and no Champions League.
Plus, the elite players crave Champions League football, Gnabry is an elite player who probably wouldn’t want to hop out of that bubble to play Europa League football.
