Bartlomiej Dragowski could end up in the Premier League amid interest from Southampton in a Serie A shot-stopper, the goalkeeper’s agent tells Fiorentina News.
You know your defence has had a day to forget when you lose 6-1 and your goalkeeper is your best player.
That was the case last week, as Dragowski bailed out his Poland team-mates again and again yet still ended up on the wrong side of a six-goal battering.
The athletic 24-year-old showcased the reflexes, the leadership and the aggression that has caught the eye of a number of clubs as he prepares to leave Fiorentina this summer, with some reports suggesting that St Mary’s is all-but certain to be his next destination.
“Bartlomiej Dragowski will leave Fiorentina,” says Polish reporter Tomas Wlodarczyk. “He had offers from Spain but, to my knowledge, he will go to the Premier League. His new club is Southampton.”
Will Bartlomiej Dragowski be Southampton’s next number one?

The Saints could reportedly spend £10 million on Dragowski, though the club’s pursuit of Manchester City wonderkid Gavin Bazunu complicates matters somewhat. Southampton have allegedly struck a deal to bring in free-agent Mateusz Lis too, though the 25-year-old is expected to spend next season out on loan, most likely in France.
“I state that he is in great athletic shape, as always,” says Dragowski’s agent, Mariusz Kulesza. “He made some incredible saves in the game that Poland lost against Belgium. He is still only 24 years old.
“You will see, he will become a top (top-class goalkeeper). Next week, things should become clearer. His future will be bright.
“Yes, I can confirm that (the Premier League) is one of the options we are considering. We will see.”
Southampton have also been linked with Sam Johnstone, though the England international is now set to join Crystal Palace. MLS glovesman Gabriel Slonina, meanwhile, could land at European champions Real Madrid.
