West Ham United are close to completing the signing of Nayef Aguerd from Rennes, according to Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that West Ham are “now getting closer” to reaching full agreement with French club Rennes over the transfer of Aguerd.
Talks are now about the final details of the deal, according to Romano, who has suggested that the transfer is on the verge of getting completed.
West Ham United close to signing Nayef Aguerd
In our view, Nayef Aguerd would be a good signing for West Ham United and would make manager David Moyes’s side better.
The 26-year-old is a very experienced defender who has earned 19 caps for Morocco.
Central defence is an issue for West Ham.

Angelo Ogbonna is not getting any younger, while Issa Diop has not been in great form lately.
Aguerd will reportedly cost £17 million in transfer fees.
That is not a hefty fee, especially for a big and ambitious club such as West Ham.
Aguerd made 31 starts in Ligue 1 for Rennes this past season.
The defender scored two goals and gave two assists in those games.
Aguerd also played twice in the Conference League and featured in five matches for Morocco at the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.
