Nathan Blake has stated that Leeds United transfer target, Brennan Johnson, is ‘so positive every time he gets on the pitch’ after his first goal for Wales.

On Saturday, Wales recorded a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Belgium in the UEFA Nations League, with Johnson coming off the bench and scoring a late equaliser.

The 21-year-old must be living on cloud nine of late because, after helping Nottingham Forest earn promotion to the Premier League, he is now doing the talking on the international stage.

Nonetheless, this is what ex-Wales international Blake had to say about Johnson’s latest performance.

“It’s really great play again from the youngster,” said Blake. “He’s so positive every time he gets on the pitch. It’s a really good run.”

JOHNSON ON LEEDS’ TRANSFER RADAR

With Forest earning promotion to the Premier League, after over decades of wait, they will be hoping it now provides them with the power to keep their star players.

One of them is Johnson, he has admirers at Leeds and Newcastle United, who have their new Saudi-led group backing them.

Whilst Nottingham Forest will be resigned to losing Djed Spence to Tottenham because he was on-loan from Middlesbrough.

They should do all it takes to keep Johnson and it would be in the best interest of his development if he stayed put at the City Ground.
