According to the Daily Mail, Marcus Rashford is now unlikely to leave Manchester United, despite interest from Premier League rivals Arsenal.

What’s the story?

Well, it was said that the £180,000-a-week man was considering his future at Old Trafford, which alerted Mikel Arteta.

Tottenham are also believed to be monitoring the situation.

Now, however, it seems Rashford will be going nowhere, as he has decided to knuckle down and impress Erik ten Hag ahead of the Dutchman’s first season in charge of Manchester United.

The Daily Mail believe the Red Devils have dismissed talk of the 24-year-old changing clubs, and some sources at Old Trafford insist he is ready to “reset and refresh” under Ten Hag.

After scoring just five goals in 32 appearances last season, Rashford certainly needs to step things up.

The England international also becomes a free agent in June 2023, so he is effectively playing for his Manchester United future this season.

Interestingly, Barcelona are also eyeing a move for Rashford, if he does end up on the market.

Newcastle are also said to be interested in the Manchester-born striker.

Arsenal could still sign Marcus Rashford

In our view, Rashford could still leave Old Trafford this summer – it may not be up to him.

As aforesaid, he becomes a free agent in June 2023, so Ten Hag may prefer to cash in on his No.10 now and reinvest the money into new signings.

After all, Manchester United are currently battling Liverpool for the signature of Benfica striker Darwin Nunez, so Ten Hag may have already decided to replace Rashford.

He is a valuable asset despite his contract situation, so if funds are needed to strengthen other areas, who knows what could happen.

Only time will tell what happens, although the decision may eventually be taken out of Rashford’s hands if an enticing offer arrives.
