Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim Tottenham are looking at a possible move to sign Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata – but face competition from Arsenal, Newcastle and possibly even Juventus.
Morata, 29, has spent the last two seasons on loan at Juventus from Atletico Madrid. He has played 92 games, scoring 32 goals and laying on 21 assists. Impressive, yet under the radar, due to Juve’s attacking fire power.
The Spaniard has contended with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala and Dusan Vlahovic over the last two seasons – but has still produced 53 goal involvements in that time. Now, he has returned to Atletico.

The state of play is this. He has a year left on his Atleti deal. Juve had a £30million clause to make the loan permanent, but only want to pay half. Arsenal and Newcastle were previously linked, and now Conte wants him at Spurs.
Obviously, it would see Conte re-sign Morata – after the Italian lured him to Chelsea in 2017. Morata scored 24 goals in 72 Chelsea games, earning praise from Conte as a player with ‘great character’ in 2018.
Tottenham looking at Morata: Arsenal, Newcastle or Spurs?
Even a return to Juventus? Well, Arsenal desperately need a striker and Morata would instantly be first choice. Newcastle are about to bring in Hugo Ekitike and looked well-stocked up top.
Yes, Morata is better than any of Chris Wood, Callum Wilson or Ekitike, but it looks unlikely Newcastle will sell either Wilson or Wood. Tottenham need cover for Harry Kane. It means he would not start.
But he would reunite with Conte and be in the Champions League. It would also give Conte the chance to use a 3-5-2 system at times, the system he loved at Inter. If a deal can be done with Juve, it would also be a good move.
