Tony Cascarino has urged Tottenham Hotspur to sign Dejan Kulusevski on a permanent basis this summer from Juventus, as he told talkSPORT.

The 22-year-old joined Spurs during the January transfer window on a loan deal, and that is expected to continue for the 2022/23 Premier League campaign, according to Fabrizio Romano.

There would have been some expectation on Kulusevski’s shoulders when he first joined, but it’s fair to say, he probably went beyond what many would have been initially expected.

From 20 Serie A games this season, the Sweden international scored just the one goal and supplied three assists.

In comparison, he netted five and supplied eight assists from 18 Premier League games, and in turn, helped Spurs secure Champions League football.

Given the impact the all-action forward has had in north London, Cascarino had a simple transfer message for Spurs regarding their left-footed forward on the right.

“Obviously, there is an issue of keeping players,” said Cascarino. “Can you sign Kulusevski from Juve, from his loan deal? Will you get that deal done?

“He has done well enough for them to pay. He’s a very young man.

“You would also like to think that he has improvement to his game. So, yes you should sign him (permanently).

“If Conte knows what he wants, which he clearly does as a manager, he has proved that numerous times, then that’s a big thing.”

KULUSEVSKI HAS ELEVATED TOTTENHAM’S FORWARD LINE

Tottenham’s record-breaking duo, Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane, are one of the best in the business.

There is a reason why they have combined for the most goals in Premier League history – and a record they are continuing to smash.

Therefore, it would have been difficult for another attacker to join the club and elevate the club’s forward line.

But, Kulusevski has done that in bucket loads and pushed well ahead of Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn in the Tottenham pecking order.
