Danny Murphy has said on talkSPORT (11:27am, May 30, 2022) that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool should make a move Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
The former Liverpool star has also suggested West Ham United star Declan Rice as a potential transfer target for Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
Murphy made the comments while analysing the Liverpool midfield following their defeat to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final at the weekend.
Liverpool lost 1-0.
Murphy said on talkSPORT (11:27am, May 30, 2022): “I think I would go all in for Rice or Phillips. English, hungry, someone you know is going to be around for a long time, gets in, can come in, hits the ground running.”

Yes, Leeds will want a good transfer fee, but Liverpool are a rich club who can pay big money, especially for a player who could make an immediate impact at Anfield and enhance the Reds’ quality in the middle of the park.
Now, we know that Phillips is a Leeds fans, and we do not think that the 26-year-old will force a move out of Elland Road this summer.
However, the chance to play for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and challenge for major trophies – and actually win them – could be very tempting to Phillips.
