Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United are now facing stiff competition from Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton for Wolverhampton Wanderers playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White, according to The Sun.
The Sun are reporting that Southampton are keen on signing Gibbs-White, linked with a move to Leeds in the summer transfer window.
Southampton manager Hasenhuttl personally wants the 22-year-old attacking midfielder and is ready to pay up to £20 million, according to the report.
The Saints are now reportedly leading the race for the England Under-21 international.
TEAMtalk reported in March that Leeds are among a number of clubs who are keen on securing the services of the 22-year-old attacking midfielder in the summer transfer window.
The Athletic reported this month that Wolves have offered Gibbs-White a new contract.

Leeds United or Southampton for Morgan Gibbs-White?
In our view, Morgan Gibbs-White should pick a club where he would play the most and would have the best chance to grow and develop as a footballer.
If Wolves manager Bruno Lage is willing to make the 22-year-old a key figure in his team next season, then, in our view, there is no point in the playmaker leaving the Wanderers this summer.
If not, then Gibbs-White should at least consider a move away.
Between Leeds and Southampton, Gibbs-White should choose the club where he would feature prominently.
Neither Leeds nor Southampton had a particularly great season, and both clubs could do with a talented and promising attacking player like Gibbs-White.
During his loan spell at Sheffield United this season, Gibbs-White made 35 starts and two substitute appearances in the Championship.
The youngster scored 12 goals and gave 10 assists in those games.
