Liverpool want West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen and now, they could get him – in a swap for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The Hammers are said to be keen on a move for the out-of-favour Liverpool midfielder.

Despite remaining fit for the entire campaign, 29-year-old Oxlade-Chamberlain has only been afforded nine Premier League starts. He is about to enter the last 12 months of his contract at Anfield.

The Mirror claim Aston Villa and West Ham want to sign Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer, with David Moyes keen on adding depth to his side. In order to avoid losing him on a free, Liverpool are willing to sell.

Indeed, they are ready to let him go for a bargain fee this summer – just £10million. With West Ham keen, Liverpool could use the Hammers’ interest to their advantage this summer – and finally get Bowen on board.

West Ham want Liverpool star Oxlade-Chamberlain: Bowen swap

Bowen has just been called up for England. He is at the top of his game, and he would signifcantly improve Liverpool – even if he does not start every match for the Reds. There is doubt over Mo Salah and Sadio Mane’s future.

Salah has confirmed he will remain at Anfield for another season, while Mane has opened the door to a possible exit. Bowen could be a replacement, even if it means being a rotation option for the first season at Anfield.

If Liverpool do sign him, they now have a better chance than ever before – and that is thanks to Oxlade-Chamberlain. Including the £10million man in a deal might just convince the Hammers to agree to a player-plus-cash deal.

With Bowen likely to cost in the region of £60million, including Oxlade-Chamberlain would save the Reds some cash. But more importantly, it would convince West Ham to sell, whereas they may not have before.
