Speaking on his podcast, Gary Neville has been full of praise for Heung-Min Son after his fantastic season for Tottenham Hotspur.
The South Korean has had a remarkable season for Spurs. He’s scored 23 goals and earned his first-ever Golden Boot award.
Neville, understandably, has been blown away by Son, naming him as his Player of the Season, stating that he picked the attacker over Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah because he doesn’t get the limelight he deserves sometimes.
What’s been said?
Neville spoke about Son not getting enough attention.
“I named him as my Player of the Season, it could have been De Bruyne, because everytime we watch him we’re blessed. Salah easily could have been Player of the Season as well. I think I’ve named him as mine in other quarters,” Neville said.
But Son, to do what he’s done at Tottenham, he does get respected and he’d be taken by any other club, but I thought he deserved something Son. He’s a special player, but he gets overshadowed by everybody, even Harry Kane.”

Silent assassin
As Neville says, the Spurs striker doesn’t quite get the attention he deserves, but that doesn’t mean that he hasn’t been absolutely brilliant for years.
To be honest, the lack of spotlight on Son’s performances is probably a good thing for Tottenham. After all, if he got the same publicity as a player like Harry Kane, he’d probably constantly be linked with moves away from the club.
In the seven years that Son has been at Spurs, there’s barely been a murmur of a transfer rumour, and we’re sure Tottenham would like to keep it that way.
Son isn’t one for the spotlight, but he’s still one of the best players in the Premier League.
