Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur will look to sign Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster on a free transfer, according to The Athletic.

The Athletic have reported this morning that Tottenham want to secure the services of Forster in the summer transfer window.

Spurs have identified the 34-year-old goalkeeper as the preferred candidate to be Hugo Lloris’s back-up next season.

The report has added that Tottenham will look to agree a deal with the former Celtic goalkeeper early as next week and make him their first signing of the summer transfer window.

The Athletic have claimed that Forster will not play for Southampton against Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday and said goodbye to his teammates on Thursday.

Southampton’s Fraser Forster would be a smart signing for Tottenham Hotspur

In our opinion, Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster would be a smart signing for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

The £72,000-a-week star (SalarySport) is out of contract at the Saints this summer, which means that Tottenham will not have to pay any transfer fee for him.

The 34-year-old is hugely experienced, and he would be able to step in for Lloris whenever Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte would want him to.
