Tottenham already have a first-choice goalkeeper in Hugo Lloris and have him tied down to another year.
Yet backup goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini is only on loan from Atalanta and may be sent back to the Italian club this summer.
That would leave Tottenham needing another goalkeeper to support Lloris.
One name now mentioned is Forster, who could tick a few boxes for Tottenham.

Talksport claim that Forster is now on Tottenham’s list of options to provide cover and competition for Lloris.
Forster is out of contract at Southampton this summer and seemingly hasn’t been offered a new deal.
Southampton seem ready to let Forster go, eight years after signing him from Celtic for around £10million.
The 34-year-old has started 19 Premier League games this season but has recently lost his place again having conceded 15 goals in his last six games.
Forster will be searching for a new club this summer and Tottenham may make some sense.

Backup goalkeeper is an ideal way to bring in some English talent and many clubs take a similar view.
There is little point in wasting a non-homegrown spot on a backup goalkeeper, especially when Tottenham have barely used Gollini.
Forster is an experienced Premier League goalkeeper who would offer the cover that Tottenham are seeking.
Just last month, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta hailed Forster as ‘exceptional’ for his performance against the Gunners.
Tottenham may therefore believe that a free transfer deal for the giant stopper is just what they need, even if his age means he wouldn’t be a long-term heir to Lloris.
