Christian Eriksen is interested in a move to Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur amid interest from Aston Villa and Newcastle United among other clubs, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Tottenham are among a number of clubs keen on signing Brentford attacking midfielder Eriksen in the summer transfer window, according to a report in 90min last month.

West Ham United, Newcastle, Villa, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Everton are also reportedly interested in securing the services of the 30-year-old.

And now well-known and well-respected journalist Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport that Eriksen himself is interested in a return to Tottenham this summer.

Described as “sophisticated” by former Tottenham forward Garth Crooks on BBC Sport this month, the 30-year-old playmaker starred for Spurs from 2013 until 2020 when he moved to Inter Milan.

At Inter, Eriksen won the Serie A title with Antonio Conte last season.

Conte is now the head coach of Tottenham.

Christian Eriksen open to Tottenham Hotspur return

Jones told GiveMeSport: “He would have interest in going back to Tottenham, and Tottenham do have a desire to bring him back if they do qualify for the Champions League, so it seems like a no-brainer.”

No-brainer

In our opinion, Christian Eriksen to Tottenham Hotspur would make perfect sense.

The Denmark international was a star at Tottenham and worked with Conte at Inter.

Tottenham are likely to be in the Champions League next season, and signing a player of Eriksen’s quality on a free transfer would be so cost-effective.
