Football.London journalist Alasdair Gold has reported on Twitter that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been feeling unwell, and has claimed that there has been no food poisoning outbreak at Spurs.
Former Tottenham striker Gary Lineker claimed on Twitter earlier this afternoon that there has been a food-poisoning outbreak at Spurs.
The Match of the Day pundit has since suggested on the social networking site that he was joking.
Well-known and well-respected journalist Alasdair Gold, who works for Football.London, has refuted claims of a food poisoning outbreak at Spurs, but he has said that star striker Kane has been feeling unwell and will be later assessed if he can play against Norwich City in the Premier League on Sunday.

Truth about food poisoning claims regarding Tottenham
A report in Football.London today (1:28pm) has stated: “There’s no suggestions of a food poisoning outbreak at Tottenham Hotspur despite rumours.
“However, Harry Kane has been feeling unwell – not food poisoning – and will be assessed ahead of Sunday’s game. He trained yesterday and was meant to be at a media event this evening but pulled out as a precaution.
“It’s not Covid, well certainly not at this point. Conte will be with us soon to explain.”
Top-four battle
In our opinion, potentially not having Harry Kane for the match against Norwich City is a blow for Tottenham Hotspur, as they aim to beat Arsenal to the Premier League top four on the final day of the season.
Now, we do think that Tottenham will win against Norwich even without Kane.
However, having the striker available would enhance Spurs’ chances of beating the Canaries without any problem.
Let’s see what happens with Kane and whether he is fit in time for the game against Norwich.
At least it is not food poisoning.
