Well, the Arsenal team news for Everton on Sunday isn’t looking all that promising.

The Gunners round off their Premier League campaign with a visit of the Toffees at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal’s defeat by Newcastle United on Monday means that even a point for Tottenham Hotspur at relegated Norwich City this weekend will see Antonio Conte’s side finish in the fourth and final Champions League qualification place, ahead of their North London rivals.

It’s been a rotten last week for Mikel Arteta’s side, who suffered a 3-0 defeat at Spurs last Thursday in a result which arguably provided the catalyst for their capitulation.

Arsenal still could qualify for the Champions League, but beating Everton is absolutely essential and unfortunately for them, there’s more awful news.

Sky Sports reporter Katie Shanahan watched Arteta’s training session on Wednesday and revealed that four massive players were absent from London Colney.

Those players are Ben White, Gabriel Magalhaes, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Emile Smith Rowe.

With Kieran Tierney already sidelined until next season, it’s possible that Arsenal will be without any of their first-choice back four, if three of those above players cannot face Frank Lampard’s side.

Tomiyasu – who was run ragged at Newcastle, according to Jamie Carragher – went off injured at St James’s Park, while it was White and Gabriel’s first game following a knock apiece for both of them and starting them on Tyneside might have backfired for Arteta, considering their absence from training.

Gabriel, whom the North Londoners could reportedly sell this summer, didn’t cover himself in glory against the Magpies but in his defence, he suffered an injury in the defeat by Spurs seven days ago.

Even without this update, Tottenham were massive favourites to qualify for the Champions League on the final day but with four Gunners potentially injured, well describing them as ‘favourites’ doesn’t do the situation justice any longer, based on early Arsenal team news for Everton.
