Thomas Frank has been speaking to the media ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash between Brentford and Leeds at the Community Stadium.

During his press conference, the 48-year-old was asked about being mocked by Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas back in 2020.

What’s the story?

Well, after Leeds won the Championship under Marcelo Bielsa, Cooper and Dallas were filmed singing “mind the gap” to Frank.

It came after the Dane said Leeds would fear playing Brentford in the business end to that 2019/20 Championship campaign, which, in truth, isn’t that bad a thing to say.

Ahead of this Sunday’s Premier League finale – where Brentford have the chance to relegate Leeds – Ivan Toney posted footage of the song, which Leeds actually uploaded themselves in 2020, but swiftly deleted.

You can see that specific tweet below.

Now, Frank has shared his views on the video.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “The crazy thing is, I don’t know why that video came. I said I think they will fear coming to Griffin Park, that’s what I said. That’s the only thing I said two years ago. I haven’t said anything bad and I think Leeds is one of the biggest clubs in the country.”

In our view, that was a very professional response from the £29,500-a-week man, who easily could’ve reacted another way given the difference in quality between Brentford and Leeds nowadays.

Thomas Frank could get revenge on Leeds

Football is a funny old game, and it would be hugely ironic if the Bees sent Leeds back down to the Championship after what Cooper and Dallas did.

In our view, there’s a good chance of Brentford winning, even though they have nothing to play for.

The Bees will want to put on a show in front of their home support, who will surely be in a joyous mood as they celebrate a successful season in the Premier League.

It is a potential banana skin for Leeds in that respect, and those at Elland Road will be praying for Everton and Burnley’s downfall elsewhere.

Keep an eye on this tense relegation battle, as it looks set to go right down to the wire.
