Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans is ruling out a move to Manchester United – but he is still open to the idea of joining Arsenal this summer.
That’s according to a report from Voetbalkrant back in Tielemans’ native Belgium, who claim that a move to Arsenal is ‘taking shape’.
It’s claimed that Tielemans just wants certainty that Arsenal will be in the Champions League before committing to a deal.
Arsenal are in the box seat for a top-four finish and Thursday’s game against Tottenham could wrap it all up for the Gunners.
That would then leave them in a position to secure Tielemans as talks with his agent are going ‘smoothly’ according to this report.
Tielemans will accept the move once Arsenal are nailed-on for Champions League action as he is desperate to play in Europe’s top competition.
That’s also the reason why Tielemans has ruled out Manchester United.
It’s claimed that the Red Devils are ‘no longer an option’ for Tielemans because United have been so poor this season that they have played themselves out of Champions League contention.
Erik ten Hag should bring a bright new era to Old Trafford but this sums up the struggles he will face.
Quality players like Tielemans want Champions League football and they aren’t going to get it at United next season.

Arsenal are on the rise too so who knows when United will be back in the top four again?
It currently looks like Tielemans sees Arsenal as his best route to Champions League action even though Thursday’s opponents Tottenham are keen too.
The London Evening Standard claim that Tottenham have been keeping tabs on Tielemans over the last year ahead of a possible move.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are also understood to be keen but it’s Arsenal who are clear favourites as things stand.
Tielemans, 25, is out of contract in 2023 and Leicester will allegedly sell for £30million before he leaves for nothing.
