Ian Wright has said on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One that Arsenal defensive midfielder Mohamed Elneny played well against Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal got the better of Leeds 2-1 at home in the Premier League yesterday.

Elneny started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, and former Arsenal striker Wright was impressed.

Wright said on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One: “Mo Elneny again, having a fantastic game.”

Impressive display

In our opinion, Mohamed Elneny played well for Arsenal in their win against Leeds at the Emirates Stadium.

The 29-year-old imposed himself in the middle of the park and combined well with Granit Xhaka in midfield.

Elneny broke up Leeds play and also passed the ball well.

The Egyptian played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 97.6%, took 92 touches, and made three tackles, one interception and one clearance.

Elneny is not a regular in the Arsenal starting lineup, but the Egyptian has done well when he has been called into action.

The 29-year-old is out of contract at the Gunners at the end of the season, and it will be interesting to see if he signs a new deal.
