Alan Smith has praised Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah on Sky Sports Premier League (2:18pm, May 8, 2022) while watching him in action against Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium.

The Sky Sports pundit believes that Nketiah has changed over the course of the season and is now working very hard for Arsenal on the pitch.

The former Leeds loanee scored twice for Arsenal in the first half of the Premier League game in North London on Sunday afternoon.

Former Arsenal striker Smith was on co-commentary duty for the Premier League game on Sky Sports.

Praise for Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah

Smith said about Nketiah in the 18th minute: “The penny has dropped with Eddie Nketiah, the way he is working off the ball.

“I have seen him come on this season and jog through matches. His work-rate wasn’t at the right level.”

Encouraging

In our opinion, Smith’s praise for Nketiah is well deserved for the Arsenal striker.

The 22-year-old £45,000-a-week striker (Spotrac) has been superb for Mikel Arteta’s side in recent weeks and is scoring some important goals.

As Sky Sports pundit Smith noted, Nketiah is working very hard off the ball and is not just limiting himself to the opposition’s penalty area.

Nketiah is out of contract at Arsenal at the end of the season, and it will be interesting to see what happens with him in the summer transfer window.
