Brighton and Hove Albion boss Graham Potter is now the leading candidate to replace Antonio Conte at Tottenham Hotspur should the former Chelsea boss leave Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the end of the season, according to The Telegraph.
Potter could potentially replace Conte at Tottenham
Potter is reportedly now the ‘frontrunner’ to replace Conte at Tottenham if the Italian tactical decides to leave.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will have to pay £10 million as compensation fee to Brighton for the 46-year-old English manager, according to the report.
Underwhelming
In our view, if Potter replaces Conte at Tottenham, then it will be underwhelming for the Spurs fans.
Yes, of course, the Englishman has done a wonderful job at Brighton, but he is not elite like Conte is.

With Conte, you get the sense that Tottenham will be able to challenge for top honours immediately, if he is backed in the transfer windows.
If Levy appoints Potter, then it is likely that expectations of immediate success will be tempered.
In our view, if Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino becomes available in the summer of 2022, then Levy should opt for the Argentine rather than move for Potter.
Pochettino knows how Tottenham and Levy work, and the Spurs fans love him.
