Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand has been full of praise for Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski.

The pundit was discussing who he believes is the Signing of the Season in the Premier League this term, and he made a case for the Swedish winger after he joined Spurs on an initial loan in January.

Kulusevski could well end up being a Spurs player on a permanent basis. After all, Spurs do have an option to buy the Juventus loanee, and according to Rio Ferdinand, Spurs would be fools to not take up that option.

What’s been said?

Ferdinand spoke about who he thinks is the Signing of the Season.

“I think they all have a shout. Kulusevski has been phenomenal at Spurs, I think he plays like a man beyond his years, cultured and calm. If they don’t sign him they’re crazy,” Ferdinand said.

Nailed on

Ferdinand says that Tottenham would be crazy to not sign Kulusevski, and he’s absolutely right.

Spurs have the chance to sign a 22-year-old who has 11 goal contributions in 14 Premier League games for just £25m, and, to be honest, he’s probably already worth double that amount.

Luckily, Spurs aren’t daft enough to let this opportunity pass them by, and the club are reportedly already preparing to activate their buy option on Kulusevski.

As for the Swede being the signing of the season? Well, there’s a strong case to make, but the fact that he only joined in January does slightly work against him on that front.

However, if Tottenham do end up snatching fourth place, then Kulusevski will certainly be seen as one of the most transformative transfers of the campaign.

Whatever happens, we can all agree that Fabio Paratici has done an excellent job in signing Kulusevski.
