Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand has been full of praise for Gabriel Jesus after his four-goal haul against Watford and amid links to Arsenal.
The Brazilian has had quite the week. On Friday he was in the headlines as David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano claimed he was wanted by the Gunners, and on Saturday, he netted four against Watford, before once again getting on the scoresheet against Real Madrid on Tuesday.
Arsenal are reportedly in pole position to sign Jesus this summer, and according to Jesus, he would score plenty of goals if he joined the north London outfit.
What’s been said?
Shearer spoke about Jesus.
“Let’s talk about Gabriel ‘Arsenal’ Jesus, we’re getting him you know?” Ferdinand’s Arsenal-supporting co-host said.
“Good on you,” Ferdinand added.
“I think he brings more to the team, when you speak to players about him they appreciate him, he puts good work in, he has quality and he can find the net. If he plays consistently in a team like Arsenal, I think he gets you goals,” Ferdinand said.

Adds to Arsenal
Jesus may not be the most prolific striker in the Premier League, but he’d certainly bring something to Arsenal if he joined the Gunners.
Just look at his performance against Watford at the weekend. He knows how to get into good positions, and while he doesn’t take every chance he gets, his conversion rate is still superior to someone like Alexandre Lacazette.
Of course, Jesus’ game is about more than just goals. He’s played all across the front three for Pep Guardiola, and just by virtue of playing under Guardiola, his all-around game and his link-up play has improved immensely over the past few years.
The Brazilian would be a great addition to Mikel Arteta’s side in the summer transfer window.
