Didi Hamann feels Robert Lewandowski will join Barcelona ‘if he wants to go’ and claims in his Sky Germany column Bayern Munich can grant the reported Liverpool target’s transfer.
Lewandowski will enter the final year of his current contract at the Allianz Arena at the end of the season. The Poland ace has been in Bavaria since leaving Borussia Dortmund for free in 2014 and is still a potent goal threat. The 33-year-old has 47 goals in 41 games this term.

Barcelona are showing intent interest in Lewandowski’s situation, with Sport reporting the Bayern Munich ace is the La Liga giants’ top target. Camp Nou chiefs are also willing to pay €30m (£25m), but Der FCB want at least €60m (£50m). Even though he turns 34 in August.

Clubs around Europe are also paying close attention to the 2021 Best Fifa Men’s Player of the Year winner. Interia Sport add that Liverpool, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain have contacted Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, to discuss the Bayern striker’s transfer.
But Barcelona lead the race, having already agreed on the details for a three year contract with the 129-cap attacker. Yet Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn has since moved to rule out allowing Lewandowski to leave the Bundesliga side all the while he is under contract there.
“We’re not crazy and are now discussing a change from a player who scores between 30 and 40 goals with us every season,” Kahn said, via Kicker. “That cannot be. We still have a contract with Robert that lasts one season.”

Hamann expects Lewandowski ‘will probably’ join Barcelona over Liverpool talks
Former Liverpool and Bayern Munich star Hamann feels Lewandowski will join Barcelona if that is the transfer he wants, though. And despite the one-time Champions League winner being a prolific striker, Hamann believes Der FCB should look to move on from him soon.
“If he wants to go to Barcelona, then he will probably go,” Hamann wrote. “When great players leave, it was always an opportunity for others as well. Maybe you’ll get not just one, but two or three new ones.
“Lewandowski seems to be flirting with a change this time more than in previous years. I don’t think it would even be the worst thing for Bayern if he left.
“Lewandowski will be 34, I think he’ll be scoring goals for another year. But I don’t know if he can maintain his level for another two or three years. Maybe it would be better to regroup the team.”
