Manchester City youngster Gavin Bazunu could leave the Premier League giants this summer for good with top-flight English sides and European clubs eyeing the Republic of Ireland international.

According to Irish publication The42, the 20-year-old shot-stopper has attracted interest from big clubs after a sensational breakout year for both Portsmouth on loan as well as with the Boys in Green.

Bazunu has kept 16 clean sheets for Pompey this season in League One, with the youngster also asserting himself as Ireland’s no. 1 goalkeeper, with the City talent famously saving a penalty from Cristiano Ronaldo in late 2021.

With minutes at City next season extremely unlikely given Ederson’s Moraes status as one of the best keepers in the world and Zack Steffen a solid understudy for the Brazilian, a permanent move seems likely for Bazunu.

And now, as per The42, clubs in the Premier League, Serie A and Bundesliga are eyeing Bazunu, who could be allowed to depart City for good this summer if a strong offer comes in for the Irish youngster.

Indeed, with Bazunu asserting himself as one of the most exciting talents in England and one of the best young keepers in Europe, a move to a big side where regular minutes are on offer will be an opportunity that is too good to turn down.

With Bazunu making a name for himself for both club and country, the keeper is simply too good to act as third-choice at City next season, and a summer move would be the smartest decision for the young Irishman.

After all, Bazunu has shown himself he can take on the best in world football and come out the victor, and after flourishing at Portsmouth this season, the youngster is ready for a level up in his career as well as a new adventure.
