Former Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has pleaded for FC Barcelona star and rumoured Tottenham target Ousmane Dembele to remain with the La Liga side this summer.
Speaking to the press via GSFN after a dramatic late-win against Levante, the Gabon international once again stated his desire for the France international to remain in Catalonia, with Dembele once again bagging an assist for Barcelona.
The winger has been in sensational form in recent weeks, with Dembele and Aubameyang rekindling their relationship that made the pair so potent at Borussia Dortmund over five years ago.
However, despite an incredible run of form, Dembele is yet to pen a new contract for Barcelona, with talks still going nowhere and interest in the attacker beginning to grow, with Tottenham reportedly keen.
Foot Mercato have recently claimed that the north London side are chasing Dembele, who signed for Barcelona in 2017 for a club-record £136m following the departure of Neymar.
Whilst interest continues to grow in Dembele, Aubameyang made it clear last night that he wants the winger to stay in Barcelona. The former Arsenal star said: “Ousmane knows me well so I’ve to be ready when he gets the ball on the right. He has to stay here.”
Tottenham’s chances of signing Dembele dwindle with each standout Barcelona performance

Dembele’s form in 2022 has been something of a revelation, with the winger one of the top players in Europe in recent weeks and giving Barcelona a headache in what to do in regards to his future.
But, with Aubameyang now voicing his support of Dembele staying in Barcelona, the club could well be tempted to hand the winger a new contract despite the financial implications it could have, as well as interest from Tottenham.
