Everton are eyeing a move for Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin as the Magpies consider selling the Frenchman this summer.

That’s according to a report from 90Min, who claim that Newcastle are open to selling Saint-Maximin at the end of the season.

That matches up with what the Daily Mail reported over the weekend, claiming that Newcastle will sell for around £50million.

This new report claims that Saint-Maximin has been pushing for a new contract but Newcastle just aren’t sure.

Saint-Maximin still has four years left on his deal so Newcastle aren’t keen to give him a pay rise – and may instead look to sell.

The winger’s representatives are already looking at potential transfers – but just where could the Frenchman be going?

The report claims that Wolverhampton Wanderers are looking to sign Saint-Maximin as they seek an unpredictable, speedy winger to replace Adama Traore.

Everton are also thought to be interested in a somewhat strange rumour given their perilous situation both and off the pitch.

The Toffees are in danger of dropping into the Championship after a truly dismal season.

It’s also been reported that Everton are right up against the FFP regulations, meaning they are hardly in a position to be signing a £50million player.

Saint-Maximin signing for Everton sounds very, very unlikely even if the Toffees stay up, and it’s hard to imagine Saint-Maximin seeing that move as a step up right now.

Praised as ‘magic’ by Kieran Trippier, Saint-Maximin has been hugely popular at Newcastle since arriving from Nice in 2019.

It now seems that his time at St James’ Park could be coming to an end, but if we had to guess whether he will join Wolves or Everton, it would have to be the former.
