Pundit Rachel Brown-Finnis has noted on BT Sport 1 (4:50pm, April 2, 2022) that Leeds United head coach Jesse Marsch was fuming towards the end of the match against Southampton at Elland Road.

Leeds played out a 1-1 draw with Southampton at Elland Road in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Luke Ayling started the game for the West Yorkshire club, but the right-back was substituted in the 89th minute.

There appeared to be a miscommunication, as Ayling seemed fine to continue, but the Leeds technical staff thought otherwise.

Leeds head coach Marsch was fuming at his technical staff and physios, according to former Everton and England women’s star Brown-Finnis.

Safe from relegation

In our opinion, Leeds are now pretty much safe from getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

Now, of course, mathematically the Whites could still go down, but we think that they have done enough to stay in the Premier League for one more season at least.

Leeds are as many as eight points above the bottom three.

Marsch has made a positive impact at Leeds since replacing Marcelo Bielsa at the helm at Elland Road.
