Tottenham Hotspur’s quest to sign Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale in the summer transfer window is now reportedly facing a threat from AC Milan.

Bale, a former Tottenham star, is out of contract at Spanish and European giants Madrid at the end of the season.

In February, TuttoMercatoWeb reported that the 32-year-old winger has already signed a pre-contract agreement to rejoin Spurs for a third time.

However, there has been a fresh twist today.

Sport are reporting this morning that AC Milan are keen on signing Bale on a free transfer in the summer of 2022.

The Italian club have made contact with Bale’s representatives over securing his services on a free transfer.

Tottenham Hotspur or AC Milan for Gareth Bale?

In our opinion, Milan could be very appealing to Bale, who could decide to move to the Italian club instead of returning to Tottenham.

Milan could end up winning the Serie A title the season, and the Italian giants are also now regularly playing in the Champions League.

If Wales end up qualifying for the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar later in the year, then Bale would need a club for at least the first half of next season.

Milan could be a good option for the Wales international forward, described as a “superstar” by former Tottenham striker Darren Bent on talkSPORT (4:13pm, March 25, 2022).
